This is a period of counting blessings and dreaming dreams. I am grateful for many blessings PAWS has received in the names of animals. The sight of diseased animals and accidental cases can be heart rending for those who love animals. It also takes a lot of strength and determination to nurse them back to health and that is precisely what we do at our PAWS shelter. Nothing gives more pleasure than the sight of a once, sick and dying dog back on its feet with a vigorous wag of its tail — a wonderful way to say thanks!
Pet Animal Welfare Society has been successful in decreasing the population of homeless animals by successfully implementing the ABC (Animal Birth Control) program and has protected them against rabies. PAWS has undertaken many awareness programs to help people know about the care and management of their indoor and outdoor pets. The number of animals rescued, sheltered and adopted this year has increased. We responded to over 15400 phone calls till Dec 2010 and worked in coordination with other animal welfare organizations, local vets and society.
We hope to improve our performance and widen our horizons for which your active participation is of vital importance. Do send in your suggestions and criticism as we welcome both.
